Tanera Mòr is the largest and only inhabited of the Summer Isles, just off the coast of Coigach. There are no roads, cars or shops; just fresh air, space and freedom to spend time at a peaceful pace.
Rowan Cottage is a spacious, cosy bungalow situated just metres from the sea and near to Tigh an Quay pier. It is half-way round the bay near the old herring curing station – an area of the island immortalised in Fraser Darling’s famous book Island Years. Large windows provide spectacular views out across the bay to the North West Highlands. The house is warmed by an oil-fired stove and an open fire.
Sailing lessons are available in our RYA-recognised sailing school, and we run full-board active and creative residential courses. Our shore-side cafe sells delicious Fairtrade and organic produce, and the Summer Isles Post Office sells our own special stamps.
