The Summer Isles Hotel and Restaurant – Latest News
On 10th June 2020, the Scottish Government announced that tourism businesses should start to prepare for a provisional return to trading – with appropriate safety guidelines – on 15th July 2020. This date cannot be definitive and is conditional on public health advice and progression to Phase 3 on the Scottish Government Route Map. In the meantime, the Summer Isles Hotel is working hard to satisfy the necessary regulations and to adapt to a “new normal” without diluting it’s core offer of peace, tranquillity, a spectacular setting and wonderful food..
The Summer Isles Hotel, Restaurant and Bar will remain closed up to (and including) 14th July 2020. Subject to the above, we aim to welcome our first guests of the 2020 season on 15th July 2020.
At this stage, our “new normal” features:
- Reduced occupancy – to enable sensible distancing
- A set 4 course dinner – changing daily.
- An extended season – open through November, Winter packages and Christmas and Hogmanay. All subject to demand.
- Continued closure of the hotel bar as this cosy space does not lend itself to social distancing!
Our booking policy will remain flexible in these uncertain times with refunds available in all but the last 72 hours before arrival. A minimum stay of two nights will be encouraged as we believe our guests will wish to explore the Highlands at a slower pace in the months ahead.
The Summer Isles Hotel and Restaurant has been a “destination hotel” for many decades. Our stunning location and the quality of our food are the two key reasons that guests choose to visit the hotel. We have access to wonderful local ingredients and are heavily influenced by our coastal surroundings.
In the evening, guests have the choice of dining in our restaurant or bar. Our restaurant is a beautiful and airy room with wonderful views towards the Summer Isles. The atmosphere is smart but relaxed. Eating in the bar is a more informal experience with the opportunity to meet the local community and enjoy a fine range of ales.
The bar that is also dog-friendly is open from noon and takes lunch orders from 12:00 to 14:30. In the evening, both restaurant and bar take dinner orders from 18:00 to 21:00.
We strongly recommend reservations in advance.
