The Coigach Gathering 2019

A great day out for all the family with competitions, races, local food and drink and a dance in the evening.

Fast food in Coigach usually includes oysters, herring, salmon and other local produce. Why not treat yourself?

 

Traditional Music Session

When - Tuesday 2nd July, 2019 , 7:30pm
Where - Coigach Community Hall

Come and join us for an evening of home grown music with Mairearad Green and Kim Richards. Bring your instrument or just yourself and drop in whenever you feel like it between 7.30 and 10 pm.

Entry is by donation but we hope you will make sure that we are able to reward our special guests for the evening.

A bar licence is planned but please check here for any last minute changes.

Volunteer Day at Achlochan Loch

Meet at 10am at the Broch footpath (NC 03301 07287)

Scottish Wildlife Trust and the Achlochan Crofters welcome volunteers to join us and help carry out improvements to the barn at Achlochan Loch and lay down an improved floor.  The barn is an important place for us to store tools and take shelter in on a rainy volunteer day, and is home to some local wildlife.

WHAT TO BRING: Outdoor clothing including waterproofs; sturdy boots or wellies; sunscreen and a hat in warm weather; lunch, snacks and a drink.

Mountain Life: Cul Mor

Where - Cul Mor

On the boundary of Wester Ross and Sutherland, Cul Mor is a Corbett with spectacular views from the top. It is a hard but worthwhile climb and we will be searching wildlife including a rare plant called Norwegian Mugwort.

Suitable for adults only. Participants must have good fitness for steep and rocky terrain and bring appropriate outdoor clothing, footwear and lunch. Distance 13.5km/8.5mi.

Places are limited and booking essential by 29th July, 4pm.

It costs £9.73 per visitor to operate our Countryside Ranger Service. We make no charge for this event but we rely on your donations to help us protect our Highland wildlife and heritage.

Wester Ross Green Volunteers: Badentarbet Beach Clean

When - Friday 20th September, 2019 , 1:00pm
Where - Badentarbat

badentarbat beachJoin the Wester Ross ranger and Coigach and Assynt Living Landscape Project to clean up this beach for wildlife and people. It regularly gets coated in rubbish from the sea and it needs your help. Drop in for as long as you like.

• Bags, gloves and pickers provided (but bring your own if you can)

• Wear sturdy footwear and bring layers of clothing

• We will have baking!

Please let the ranger know if you think you might come.

Foraging Walk, Isle Martin near Ullapool

When - Tuesday 1st October, 2019 , 12:00pm
Where - Isle Martin

Join the ranger for a potter about Isle Martin (a community owned Island run by The Isle Martin Trust) where we will look at food from the land and coast. Following the walk, there is a museum and café on the island which you can enjoy.

Suitable for adults and families with children over 8 years old. Distance approx. 2.5km/1.5mi. Please bring lunch, sturdy footwear and outdoor clothing.

Places are limited and booking essential by 4pm on the 30th of September.

The Ferry is run by the Isle Martin Trust and charged seperately. The ranger will meet you on the island.
